Eine Todesdrohung der Taliban zwingt den afgha­ni­schen Regisseur Hassan Fazili und sei­ne Frau Fatima Hussaini, eben­falls Filmemacherin, im Jahr 2015 zur Flucht. Zusammen mit den bei­den Töchtern Nargis (11) und Zahra (6) hof­fen sie auf Sicherheit im fer­nen Europa. Mit dem Blick von Filmemachern fil­men sie die Reise über die Balkanroute und die unge­wis­sen Aufenthalte in ver­schie­de­nen Flüchtlingslagern mit ihren Mobiltelefonen. Familiärer Humor und ihr Ziel geben ihnen Kraft, ihre schwie­ri­ge Situation zu dokumentieren.
