You wouldn’t imme­dia­te­ly guess it from this old Berlin buil­ding cover­ed in colourful graf­fi­ti: here, right in the heart of Neukölln, lies the F42 spe­cia­list cli­nic, whe­re peo­p­le aged bet­ween 20 and 60 are try­ing to start a life free from addic­tion. The women in reha­bi­li­ta­ti­on come from dif­fe­rent cul­tu­ral back­grounds and form a uni­que resi­den­ti­al com­mu­ni­ty. Their stay in inpa­ti­ent addic­tion reha­bi­li­ta­ti­on is inten­ded to gui­de them back into working and social life. The stark con­trast bet­ween the tre­at­ment on offer at the cli­nic and the tempt­a­ti­ons on the streets right on its door­step demands gre­at effort and per­so­nal respon­si­bi­li­ty from both the cli­ents and their carers. TUN & LASSEN tells of set­backs, but abo­ve all of tho­se small moments of pro­gress, and shows that behind the big word ‘addic­tion’ lie per­fect­ly ordi­na­ry peo­p­le. TUN & LASSEN accom­pa­nies them on their journey.
