A see­mingly ordi­na­ry fami­ly life in Austria after the Second World War. Johanna takes over her father’s old Super 8 came­ra and obser­ves her rela­ti­ves: her litt­le sis­ter, their dog Cora, her mother, her grand­par­ents and, abo­ve all, the many women who, sip­ping schnapps and smo­king, gather time and again for ‘Grandma’s Cooking Club’ in her flat. But here’s the thing: the only thing they cook is hot water, which is car­ri­ed into hid­den rooms, becau­se the fami­ly is har­bou­ring a secret.
