Pio - fsk Kino

Ein Film von Jonas Carpignano.

Der 14-jährige Pio lebt in einer Roma-Familiengemeinschaft, die in der süditalienischen Stadt Gioia Tauro mehrere Wohnblocks bewohnt. In der Hafenstadt gibt es kaum Perspektiven, Zusammenhalt nur innerhalb der eigenen Community, notfalls auch gegen andere Ausgegrenzte wie die afrikanischen Flüchtlinge, deren Lebensverhältnisse noch schlechter sind. Als sein Bruder und sein Vater verhaftet werden, fühlt sich Pio verpflichtet, für die Mutter und die jüngeren Geschwister Geld zu verdienen und er fängt deshalb an, kleinere und größere Verbrechen zu begehen.

Bereits in „Mediterranea“, dem Spielfilmdebüt von Jonas Carpignano, spielt Pio eine kleinere Nebenrolle. Jetzt dreht sich der ganze Film um ihn, die Rolle seines besten Freundes ist mit Koudous Seihon besetzt, dem Hauptdarsteller aus „Mediterranea“. Beide Laiendarsteller wissen, was sie spielen, denn sie bringen ihre eigenen Lebenserfahrungen in die Filme Carpignanos mit ein.
