Will (Ben Foster) and his teenage daugh\u00adter, Tom (Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie), have lived off the grid for years in the forests of Portland, Oregon. When their idyl\u00adlic life is shat\u00adte\u00adred, both are put into social ser\u00advices. After clas\u00adhing with their new sur\u00adroun\u00addings, Will and Tom set off on a har\u00adro\u00adwing jour\u00adney back to their wild homeland.<\/p>\n

The film is direc\u00adted by Debra Granik from a script adapt\u00aded by Granik and Anne Rosellini and based on the novel My Abandonment<\/em> by Peter Rock.<\/p>\n
