Tempelhof Airport in Berlin is Europe\u2019s lar\u00adgest heri\u00adta\u00adge buil\u00adding. It beca\u00adme a sym\u00adbol of both National Socialist self-aggran\u00addi\u00adse\u00adment as well as of free\u00addom during the air\u00adlift of 1948 \u2013 49. Since autumn 2015 seve\u00adral han\u00adgars have been pro\u00advi\u00adding tem\u00adpo\u00adra\u00adry shel\u00adter for refu\u00adgees. Like the other 2,000 peo\u00adp\u00adle here who have fled their home\u00adland, Ibrahim from Syria and Qutaiba from Iraq dream of being able to make a new start. Full of hope, they work with trans\u00adla\u00adtors, doc\u00adtors, lan\u00adguage tea\u00adchers and job agents to prepa\u00adre for life in their new German home. The lack of pri\u00adva\u00adte space and com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adca\u00adti\u00adon and admi\u00adnis\u00adtra\u00adti\u00adve bar\u00adriers are some of the chal\u00adlenges they face while, on the near\u00adby recrea\u00adti\u00adon area of Tempelhofer Feld, Berliners and tou\u00adrists escape their dai\u00adly rou\u00adti\u00adne. \nKarim A\u00efnouz spent a year fol\u00adlo\u00adwing the\u00adse men in search of a place they can call home. The film\u2019s sen\u00adsi\u00adti\u00adve and well-com\u00adpo\u00adsed images cap\u00adtu\u00adre their lives that are shaped by uncer\u00adtain\u00adty, stress and angu\u00adish, but also jol\u00adli\u00adty and aspi\u00adra\u00adti\u00adons.
