Early one sum\u00admer mor\u00adning a young man, with a secret stas\u00adhed away in a duf\u00adfel bag, emer\u00adges from the forest. In a near\u00adby vil\u00adla\u00adge he asks around for work, but the far\u00admers, sus\u00adpi\u00adcious to the point of hosti\u00adli\u00adty, are not very forth\u00adco\u00adming. Only when Lucy, the mayor\u2019s unru\u00adly daugh\u00adter, takes a liking to him, does the vil\u00adla\u00adge chan\u00adge its atti\u00adtu\u00adde: he is prompt\u00adly offe\u00adred a job as a farm\u00adhand and a cara\u00advan to live in.<\/p>\n

As time pas\u00adses and he is gra\u00addu\u00adal\u00adly inte\u00adgra\u00adted into the com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adty, it emer\u00adges that he\u2019s not the only one with a past to hide.
