Like Marjane Satrapi\u2019s 2007 PERSEPOLIS<\/span>, it offers just enough distance to explo\u00adre the high\u00adly char\u00adged the\u00adme of sexu\u00adal and per\u00adso\u00adnal free\u00addom in Iran wit\u00adhout sala\u00adcious\u00adness. Women are the main vic\u00adtims here, whe\u00adther mar\u00adried, divorced or sin\u00adgle, and their lives are depic\u00adted as pure tragedy.
\nFar from the usu\u00adal vic\u00adti\u00admi\u00adzed street\u00adwal\u00adker, the pro\u00adsti\u00adtu\u00adte Pari in the first epi\u00adso\u00adde embo\u00addies the truth that no repres\u00adsi\u00adve sys\u00adtem can com\u00adple\u00adte\u00adly quell the human spi\u00adrit. There\u2019s some\u00adthing that recalls Anna Magnani\u2019s eart\u00adhi\u00adness and gre\u00adat heart in Elmira Rafizadeh\u2019s many-hued per\u00adfor\u00admance. Pari\u2019s back\u00adstory is a fai\u00adled mar\u00adria\u00adge to a drug addict who is now in pri\u00adson. When she tri\u00ades to get a judge in the Islamic Revolutionary Court to sign her divorce papers, he bar\u00adters his signa\u00adtu\u00adre for a con\u00adcu\u00adbi\u00adne arran\u00adge\u00adment.
