Albert grew up on a remo\u00adte farm in South Tyrol. On the urging of his mother, who wan\u00adted to spa\u00adre her son the loneli\u00adne\u00adss of moun\u00adtain life, he left the farm a few years ago and moved into the val\u00adley, whe\u00adre he works in a marb\u00adle quar\u00adry. The intro\u00adver\u00adted young man does\u00adn\u2019t make fri\u00adends easi\u00adly and has to learn to live in urban socie\u00adty. When his father has a fatal acci\u00addent, his mother keeps it secret from her son becau\u00adse she fears that would make him move back to the farm. But the old woman can\u00adnot mana\u00adge all the work on her own and, just as Albert is fin\u00adding his feet in the val\u00adley and has even fal\u00adlen in love, she tells him the truth. Albert is con\u00adfron\u00adted with an exis\u00adten\u00adti\u00adal decis\u00adi\u00adon for hims\u00adelf and his mother. The film uses stun\u00adning pho\u00adto\u00adgra\u00adphy to por\u00adtray an archaic world in which humans and natu\u00adre co-exist clo\u00adse\u00adly together.<\/p>\n
