Austrian civil engi\u00adneer Michael lives with his girl\u00adfri\u00adend in Berlin. For years, he has bare\u00adly had any cont\u00adact with his 14-year-old son Luis. When Michael\u2019s father dies the two none\u00adthel\u00adess tra\u00advel tog\u00ade\u00adther to the fun\u00ade\u00adral which is held in the remo\u00adte north of Norway. At the deceased\u2019s secluded home Michael beg\u00adins to pack up his late father\u2019s per\u00adso\u00adnal items \u2013 wat\u00adched in silence by his son. Two peo\u00adp\u00adle who bare\u00adly know each other are sud\u00adden\u00adly caught in an inti\u00adma\u00adte situa\u00adti\u00adon. After the fun\u00ade\u00adral, Michael sur\u00adpri\u00adses Luis by sug\u00adgest\u00ading that they spend a few days tog\u00ade\u00adther explo\u00adring the regi\u00adon. A road movie beg\u00adins that is also a jour\u00adney into their non-exis\u00adtent shared past. Being tog\u00ade\u00adther turns out to be more dif\u00adfi\u00adcult than expec\u00adted. Never having spent any time with each other on a dai\u00adly basis, they have trou\u00adble hand\u00adling their rela\u00adti\u00adonship. Whilst Michael glos\u00adses over this situa\u00adti\u00adon, Luis can\u2019t hide how hurt he is. His father\u2019s long years of absence stand bet\u00adween them like a wall. When they are in the car tog\u00ade\u00adther it feels like the calm befo\u00adre a storm. During the long days of the sum\u00admer sol\u00adsti\u00adce, days when the sun never sets, Michael tri\u00ades to break the repe\u00adti\u00adti\u00adve cycle and find a joint way forward.<\/p>\n
