W\u00e4hrend der junge Bauernsohn Paul der Perspektivlosigkeit seines Dorfes entkommen und Malerei studieren will, k\u00e4mpft sein \u00e4lterer Bruder Anton kompromisslos f\u00fcr den Schutz der deutschsprachigen Minderheit&nbsp;\u2013 notfalls mit Gewalt. Nachdem Anton als einer der Attent\u00e4ter&nbsp;enttarnt wird, flieht er und l\u00e4sst Hof und Familie&nbsp;zur\u00fcck. Widerwillig verschiebt Paul seine eigenen Pl\u00e4ne, um Antons Frau Anna und ihren kleinen Sohn zu unterst\u00fctzen.
