In November 1992, a racist arson attack in M\u00f6lln shat\u00adte\u00adred the lives of \u0130brahim Arslan and his fami\u00adly. At just seven years old, \u0130brahim sur\u00advi\u00adved, but he lost his sis\u00adter, his cou\u00adsin and his grand\u00admo\u00adther. In the after\u00admath of the attacks, the city recei\u00adved hundreds of let\u00adters of soli\u00adda\u00adri\u00adty which were igno\u00adred for near\u00adly three deca\u00addes. Woven into \u0130brahim\u2019s poignant jour\u00adney of dis\u00adco\u00advery and his encoun\u00adters with three let\u00adter wri\u00adters, the\u00adse redis\u00adco\u00adver\u00aded let\u00adters form a visu\u00adal and emo\u00adtio\u00adnal bridge bet\u00adween past and pre\u00adsent. The film fol\u00adlows \u0130brahim and his siblings, pain\u00adting a com\u00adplex por\u00adtrait of the las\u00adting trau\u00adma that con\u00adti\u00adnues to affect them to this day. While \u0130brahim has found a way to cope by fight\u00ading against racism and advo\u00adca\u00adting for a remem\u00adbrance cul\u00adtu\u00adre cent\u00adred on the vic\u00adtims\u2019 per\u00adspec\u00adti\u00adves, his brot\u00adher Namik is still at the begin\u00adning of his jour\u00adney to come to terms with the trau\u00adma\u00adtic expe\u00adri\u00aden\u00adces.
The film not only ampli\u00adfies the per\u00adspec\u00adti\u00adves of the vic\u00adtims and sur\u00advi\u00advors but also unco\u00advers the vibrant soli\u00adda\u00adri\u00adty that once exis\u00adted \u2013 a soli\u00adda\u00adri\u00adty of which the vic\u00adtims and sur\u00advi\u00advors were pre\u00advious\u00adly una\u00adwa\u00adre. It offers a new per\u00adspec\u00adti\u00adve on remem\u00adbrance \u2013 one that takes the voices of sur\u00advi\u00advors and their expe\u00adri\u00aden\u00adces serious\u00adly and pro\u00advi\u00addes them with the space and reco\u00adgni\u00adti\u00adon that they deserve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
