When her mother and grand\u00admo\u00adther dis\u00adco\u00adver her wri\u00adtin\u00adgs, their initi\u00adal shock at the inti\u00adma\u00adte descrip\u00adti\u00adons gives way to admi\u00adra\u00adti\u00adon for their lite\u00adra\u00adry merit. The two older women begin to reflect on their own love lives, their plea\u00adsu\u00adres and missed oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adties, and are remin\u00added of the over\u00adwhel\u00adming sen\u00adsa\u00adti\u00adon of first love; and of the lon\u00adging for some\u00adthing more. Johanne\u2019s grand\u00admo\u00adther, an estab\u00adlished poet hers\u00adelf, feels both pri\u00adde and unea\u00adse at her granddaughter\u2019s natu\u00adral talent. But ques\u00adti\u00adons lin\u00adger: What tru\u00adly hap\u00adpen\u00aded bet\u00adween Johanne and her tea\u00adcher? Where does rea\u00adli\u00adty end and fic\u00adtion begin?
