On July 19, 1979, the Sandinista People\u2019s Revolution in Nicaragua over\u00adth\u00adrew the bru\u00adtal dic\u00adta\u00adtor Somoza and made the world dream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adtion of a new, more social and just socie\u00adty \u201cbet\u00adween the blocks\u201d see\u00admed pos\u00adsi\u00adble. Tens of thou\u00adsands from all over the world tra\u00advel to the small Central American coun\u00adtry to sup\u00adport the young govern\u00adment and rebuild the plun\u00adde\u00adred country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From what was then West Germany alo\u00adne, over 15,000 sup\u00adport\u00aders made their way to the small Central American coun\u00adtry. In inter\u00adna\u00adtio\u00adnal bri\u00adga\u00addes, they har\u00adve\u00ads\u00adted cof\u00adfee and cot\u00adton, built schools, kin\u00adder\u00adgar\u00adtens and health cen\u00adters to rebuild the maltrea\u00adted coun\u00adtry. The purcha\u00adse of \u201cNica cof\u00adfee\u201d beco\u00admes a sym\u00adbol of inter\u00adna\u00adtio\u00adnal soli\u00adda\u00adri\u00adty with the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Contra, which is sup\u00adport\u00aded by Somoza sup\u00adport\u00aders and the USA<\/span>, attempts to over\u00adthrow the revo\u00adlu\u00adti\u00adon and res\u00adto\u00adre the old balan\u00adce of power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The civil war cos\u00adts the lives of 50,000 Nicarguans and German \u201crecon\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adtion hel\u00adpers\u201d are also kid\u00adnap\u00adped and kil\u00adled by the Contra in the 1980s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And then the unbe\u00adlie\u00adva\u00adble hap\u00adpens: in April 2018, stu\u00addents pro\u00adtes\u00adted against the for\u00admer revo\u00adlu\u00adtio\u00adna\u00adry hero and cur\u00adrent pre\u00adsi\u00addent Daniel Ortega. Over 400 peo\u00adp\u00adle were shot dead by para\u00admi\u00adli\u00adta\u00adries. The coun\u00adtry sinks into a blood\u00adbath. Ortega\u2019s inter\u00adna\u00adtio\u00adnal sup\u00adport\u00aders are also incre\u00adasing\u00adly being tar\u00adge\u00adted. They have been coll\u00adec\u00adting money for pro\u00adjects in Nicaragua for 45 years. Today, they fear for their lives and are fle\u00ade\u00ading the coun\u00adtry. Those who remain no lon\u00adger dare to rai\u00adse their voices against the for\u00admer revo\u00adlu\u00adtio\u00adna\u00adry hero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
