Munich 2016, Halle 2019 and Hanau 2020: three right-wing extre\u00admist attacks by so-cal\u00adled \u201elone wol\u00adves: Alleged lone per\u00adpe\u00adtra\u00adtors who, see\u00admingly wit\u00adhout being part of clas\u00adsic extre\u00admist struc\u00adtures, radi\u00adcal\u00adi\u00adzed them\u00adsel\u00adves on the Internet and sud\u00adden\u00adly struck in public spaces. These are sto\u00adries that now domi\u00adna\u00adte the head\u00adlines: Right-wing ter\u00adror is curr\u00adent\u00adly con\u00adside\u00adred the grea\u00adtest thre\u00adat to demo\u00adcra\u00adcy in Germany, accor\u00adding to the Office for the Protection of the Constitution. And this despi\u00adte the fact that until recent\u00adly such per\u00adpe\u00adtra\u00adtors were often clas\u00adsi\u00adfied as men\u00adtal\u00adly ill, \u201econ\u00adfu\u00adsed\u201d lone per\u00adpe\u00adtra\u00adtors and thus denied their racism. These times are over: After the attack in Hanau, Frank Walter Steinmeier spo\u00adke of an \u201eattack on all of us\u201d. But who are \u201eall of us\u201d?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tri\u00adlo\u00adgy \u201eEINZELT\u00c4TER<\/span> (Parts 1\u20133)\u201d inde\u00adpendent\u00adly takes the per\u00adspec\u00adti\u00adve of the peo\u00adp\u00adle who\u00adse rela\u00adti\u00adves were actual\u00adly the tar\u00adget of the attacks and who\u00adse lives will never be the same again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EINZELT\u00c4TER<\/span> Part 1: M\u00dcNCHEN<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arbnor lost his sis\u00adter in the 2016 attack at the Olympia shop\u00adping cen\u00adter, Hasan and Sibel lost their son. For a long time, the rela\u00adti\u00adves had to fight for the sta\u00adte to reco\u00adgni\u00adze the racist back\u00adground of the crime. Only after the attacks in Halle and Hanau did they succeed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EKarsten lost his only son Kevin in the Halle attack. While the public wat\u00adches the tri\u00adal of the right-wing extre\u00admist per\u00adpe\u00adtra\u00adtor, he strug\u00adgles to deal with his grief. He finds sup\u00adport in the Halle FC<\/span> fan scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The racist attack of February 19, 2020 has chan\u00adged Hanau-Kesselstadt. People of dif\u00adfe\u00adrent ori\u00adg\u00adins live here, and six of the nine vic\u00adtims died here. After the attack, peo\u00adp\u00adle here stick tog\u00ade\u00adther, try to deal with the con\u00adse\u00adquen\u00adces of the act, and fight for cla\u00adri\u00adfi\u00adca\u00adti\u00adon. And this is whe\u00adre the father of the per\u00adpe\u00adtra\u00adtor and the sur\u00advi\u00adving rela\u00adti\u00adves of the vic\u00adtims live in the imme\u00addia\u00adte vicinity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2018, I have been in cont\u00adact with sur\u00advi\u00advors of the racist attack in Munich in 2016, which was initi\u00adal\u00adly clas\u00adsi\u00adfied by the inves\u00adti\u00adga\u00adting aut\u00adho\u00adri\u00adties as a non-poli\u00adti\u00adcal ram\u00adpa\u00adge. This chan\u00adged with the attack in Halle in 2019, in the wake of which the Munich act was clas\u00adsi\u00adfied as right-wing vio\u00adlence and right-wing extre\u00admism as the grea\u00adtest thre\u00adat to the secu\u00adri\u00adty situa\u00adti\u00adon. After the attack of Hanau 2020, which brought the pro\u00adblem of right-wing \u201elone per\u00adpe\u00adtra\u00adtors\u201d ulti\u00adm\u00adate\u00adly into public con\u00adscious\u00adness, I deci\u00added to make a docu\u00admen\u00adta\u00adry film that accom\u00adpa\u00adnies the mour\u00adning work of the bere\u00ada\u00adved and their rela\u00adti\u00adonship to the social dimen\u00adsi\u00adon of the\u00adse three acts. The result was a tri\u00adlo\u00adgy. The fami\u00adlies in Munich and Hanau are united by the fact that their mour\u00adning work is inter\u00adwo\u00adven with the fight against racism. In Halle, the situa\u00adti\u00adon is dif\u00adfe\u00adrent: Kevin\u2019s father Karsten has to deal with the death of his child becau\u00adse someone wan\u00adted to strike a mino\u00adri\u00adty to which he hims\u00adelf does not belong. For me, his grief was no less tou\u00adch\u00ading than the grief of the other peo\u00adp\u00adle affec\u00adted.
