Beautiful and trou\u00adbled 20-some\u00adthing Donya, an Afghan trans\u00adla\u00adtor who used to work with the U.S. govern\u00adment, has trou\u00adble slee\u00adping. She lives by hers\u00adelf in Fremont, California, in a buil\u00adding with other Afghan immi\u00adgrants and often dines alo\u00adne at a local restau\u00adrant wat\u00adching soap operas. Her rou\u00adti\u00adne chan\u00adges when she\u2019s pro\u00admo\u00adted to wri\u00adting the for\u00adtu\u00adnes at her job at a for\u00adtu\u00adne coo\u00adkie fac\u00adto\u00adry in the city. As her for\u00adtu\u00adnes are read by stran\u00adgers throug\u00adhout the Bay, Donya\u2019s smol\u00adde\u00adring lon\u00adging dri\u00adves her to send a mes\u00adsa\u00adge out to the world, unsu\u00adre whe\u00adre it will lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
