Ben plants a tree on the street in front of his house in Neve Sha\u2019anan, a migrant neigh\u00adbour\u00adhood in the south of Tel Aviv. The dis\u00adtrict is on the up, and Ben has bought and upgraded a flat here tog\u00ade\u00adther with his part\u00adner Raz. This gay cou\u00adple now enjoys a sett\u00adled exis\u00adtence, their days are struc\u00adtu\u00adred by a well-estab\u00adlished rou\u00adti\u00adne and ever\u00ady\u00adthing is in its pro\u00adper place. Time then, to tack\u00adle their desi\u00adre to have child\u00adren. And so, assi\u00adduous\u00adly and con\u00adsci\u00aden\u00adtious\u00adly, they set about sear\u00adching for a sui\u00adta\u00adble egg donor and sur\u00adro\u00adga\u00adte mother. One day, when a neigh\u00adbour\u00adly con\u00adflict escala\u00adtes over the tree he has plan\u00adted, Ben beco\u00admes wit\u00adness to bru\u00adtal poli\u00adce vio\u00adlence against an Eritrean. The inci\u00addent upsets his self-image and his plans for a life tog\u00ade\u00adther with Raz.
Idan Haguel por\u00adtrays a gay midd\u00adle-class cou\u00adple who\u00adse desi\u00adre for self-rea\u00adli\u00adsa\u00adti\u00adon beg\u00adins to nar\u00adrow their world\u00adview, brin\u00adging deep-sea\u00adted pre\u00adju\u00addi\u00adces to light. A deft\u00adly told para\u00adble about the mecha\u00adnisms of gen\u00adtri\u00adfi\u00adca\u00adti\u00adon which, with a hint of sati\u00adre, rai\u00adses an uncom\u00adfor\u00adta\u00adble ques\u00adti\u00adon, name\u00adly: exact\u00adly how tole\u00adrant are we?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
