Khalil is a pri\u00adma\u00adry school tea\u00adcher and lives with his jour\u00adna\u00adlist girl\u00adfri\u00adend Leyla in Berlin. When she shows him war vide\u00ados from his home\u00adtown in Turkey \u2013 the Kurdish town of Cizre, Khalil\u2019s order\u00adly life starts to slip out of his hands: he reco\u00adgni\u00adzes his sis\u00adter, who was declared dead years ago, in the ama\u00adteur foo\u00adta\u00adge. He tri\u00ades to get in cont\u00adact with her through the Kurdish com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adty. But in return for their help, they want him to get the war vide\u00ados into the German news. But no broad\u00adcas\u00adter is inte\u00adres\u00adted: other con\u00adflicts have a hig\u00adher news value. Only when Khalil and Leyla deci\u00adde to mani\u00adpu\u00adla\u00adte the vide\u00ados, they final\u00adly get the media atten\u00adti\u00adon they wan\u00adted: news reports and poli\u00adti\u00adcal deba\u00adtes pick up speed. But when the con\u00adflict rea\u00adches Khalil\u2019s school class, he rea\u00adli\u00adzes that it is no lon\u00adger just a ques\u00adti\u00adon of win\u00adning the com\u00adpe\u00adti\u00adti\u00adon for the news atten\u00adti\u00adon, but of pro\u00adtec\u00adting his own life in Berlin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
