Paris, 1981. The winds of chan\u00adge are blo\u00adwing on elec\u00adtion night and the French storm the streets, ela\u00adted. But \u00c9lisabeth (Charlotte Gainsbourg) strug\u00adgles to share the gene\u00adral mood of opti\u00admism. Her mar\u00adria\u00adge is coming to an end and she will now have to sup\u00adport her fami\u00adly. She is dis\u00adtraught, and her father and teenage child\u00adren are worried that her tears sim\u00adply will not dry. But what if lis\u00adtening to her emo\u00adti\u00adons could help her to start fil\u00adling the blank page of her future? What if she were to wri\u00adte a let\u00adter on a whim to the host of her favou\u00adri\u00adte radio pro\u00adgram\u00adme? Or invi\u00adte a home\u00adl\u00adess girl into her house? What would hap\u00adpen if she were to make the kind of ges\u00adtu\u00adres that actual\u00adly chan\u00adge lives?
