In a moment of ordi\u00adna\u00adry mad\u00adness, three girl\u00adfri\u00adends deci\u00adde to shoot a bur\u00adqa music video. Yesmin is Kurdish and wears a headscarf, Bella descri\u00adbes hers\u00adelf as \u201chalf-Yugo(slavian)\u201d and Nati \u201ccomes from Austria\u201d. They get along like a house on fire in their Viennese \u201ctwerk bitch\u201d dialect. Yasmin\u2019s litt\u00adle brot\u00adher \u2013 no saint hims\u00adelf \u2013 sque\u00adals on Yesmin to their par\u00adents. But who could have known that Yesmin\u2019s cool dad would \u201clike\u201d their video and would start chauf\u00adfeu\u00adring the\u00adse \u201ctalen\u00adted women\u201d from one Muslim com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adty fes\u00adti\u00advi\u00adty to ano\u00adther. The three soon beco\u00adme famous, but then their views begin to diver\u00adge: Bella and Nati find a sur\u00adpri\u00adsing new cau\u00adse in the shape of Kurdish patrio\u00adtism; but, caught bet\u00adween the rea\u00adli\u00adty show of her own life and the many others in her smart\u00adphone, Yesmin starts to feel ali\u00aden\u00adated from her cul\u00adtu\u00adre, her reli\u00adgi\u00adon, the chau\u00advi\u00adnists around her and, final\u00adly, even from her fri\u00adends.
What is a \u201chome\u00adland\u201d? This is the ques\u00adti\u00adon that Kurdwin Ayub \u2013 who fled from Iraq to Austria in 1991 \u2013 posed una\u00adb\u00adas\u00adhed\u00adly in direct cine\u00adma style in her cele\u00adbra\u00adted fea\u00adture-length docu\u00admen\u00adta\u00adry debut Paradies! Paradies!<\/em>. How are opi\u00adni\u00adons for\u00admed and how do ideo\u00adlo\u00adgies pre\u00advail? Staying true to her fresh-faced girls\u2019 per\u00adspec\u00adti\u00adve and her effu\u00adsi\u00adve\u00adly intro\u00adver\u00adted young hero\u00adi\u00adnes, she now shifts, fasci\u00adna\u00adtingly, into fiction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
