Anna is 60 and her acting heyday is now behind her. She lives on her own but has a fri\u00adend and con\u00adfi\u00addant in her down\u00ads\u00adtairs neigh\u00adbour Michel, who is also sin\u00adgle. Reluctantly, Anna accepts a job as a lan\u00adguage coach for 17-year-old Adrian who has a speech impe\u00addi\u00adment and is some\u00adthing of a mis\u00adfit. She reco\u00adg\u00adni\u00ads\u00ades him as the boy who recent\u00adly snat\u00adched her hand\u00adbag in the street \u2026
\u201cIrresistible\u201d is the term that springs to mind when describ\u00ading this light-foo\u00adted and humo\u00adrous sto\u00adry of an impos\u00adsi\u00adble love affair bet\u00adween a thief and a lady. Director Nicolette Krebitz hand\u00adles the fra\u00adgi\u00adle balan\u00adce bet\u00adween the dic\u00adta\u00adtes of socie\u00adty and the heart with gre\u00adat care. The fresh breath of free\u00addom blows through a nar\u00adra\u00adti\u00adve that makes room for a nod to old West Berlin, some gent\u00adle teasing of Germany\u2019s French neigh\u00adbours, and even a ghost that is cha\u00adsed away to make way for new pos\u00adsi\u00adbi\u00adli\u00adties. But most of all, A E I O U<\/em> is a pas\u00adsio\u00adna\u00adte love let\u00adter to Sophie Rois and, per\u00adhaps through her, all the bril\u00adli\u00adant actors negle\u00adc\u00adted by an indus\u00adtry all too fond of young blood. Well, it turns out that the\u00adse young play\u00aders, embo\u00addi\u00aded here by new\u00adco\u00admer Milan Herms, not only look up to their more expe\u00adri\u00aden\u00adced peers, they tru\u00adly love them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
