Eight-year-old Nelly has just lost her bel\u00adoved grand\u00admo\u00adther and is hel\u00adping her par\u00adents clean out her mother\u2019s child\u00adhood home. She explo\u00adres the house and the sur\u00adroun\u00adding woods whe\u00adre her mum, Marion, used to play and whe\u00adre she built the tree\u00adhouse Nelly has heard so much about. One day her mother sud\u00adden\u00adly lea\u00adves. That is when Nelly meets a girl of her own age in the woods, buil\u00adding a tree\u00adhouse. Her name is Marion.
Taking part in the Berlinale for the second time, C\u00e9line Sciamma\u2019s fifth film is a work of gre\u00adat inten\u00adsi\u00adty and matu\u00adri\u00adty.
