At the Mosaik art stu\u00addio in Berlin, artists with disa\u00adbi\u00adli\u00adties are absor\u00adbed in their work. Sabine Herpich obser\u00adves the artists in the cour\u00adse of crea\u00adti\u00adon and directs her gaze at the insti\u00adtu\u00adti\u00adon its\u00adelf: its pro\u00adces\u00adses, staff and spaces. The film suc\u00adceeds in main\u00adtai\u00adning its focus on the art its\u00adelf rather than the han\u00addi\u00adcaps of its crea\u00adtors. It is around the\u00adse works that the insti\u00adtu\u00adti\u00adon takes form, thus coming into view first and fore\u00admost as an insti\u00adtu\u00adti\u00adon for art, not one for peo\u00adp\u00adle with disa\u00adbi\u00adli\u00adties. The idea of art beco\u00admes holi\u00adstic, encom\u00adpas\u00adsing the peo\u00adp\u00adle who make it as well as the places whe\u00adre it is crea\u00adted; it means loo\u00adking at the works, and tal\u00adking about them, but also art as work, com\u00adple\u00adte with working hours and wage. The film\u00adma\u00adker hers\u00adelf is not invi\u00adsi\u00adble. She asks the artists about their thoughts, ide\u00adas, methods. As the artists befo\u00adre the came\u00adra meet the gaze of the film\u00adma\u00adker, a heigh\u00adten\u00aded sen\u00adse of atten\u00adti\u00adon and sen\u00adsi\u00adti\u00advi\u00adty is pro\u00addu\u00adced \u2013 for the moods of the works, their crea\u00adtors and obser\u00advers, as well as for this film about art its\u00adelf, with its gent\u00adle, yet not timid, pre\u00adcise yet non-rest\u00adric\u00adti\u00adve form.<\/p>\n
