A video goes viral. It shows a man and a woman having sex while wea\u00adring masks. The woman is, nevert\u00adhel\u00adess, iden\u00adti\u00adfied. Too bad she is a tea\u00adcher and sup\u00adpo\u00adsed to be a role model. And this, moreo\u00adver, in a (post-socia\u00adlist but ulti\u00adm\u00adate\u00adly any) socie\u00adty that is about to get lost in a social net\u00adwork dis\u00adcour\u00adse of would-be heal\u00ading sque\u00adaky-clean atti\u00adtu\u00addes, pseu\u00addo-poli\u00adti\u00adcal kno\u00adwing-it-all, sanc\u00adti\u00admo\u00adnious chau\u00advi\u00adnism and gro\u00adtes\u00adque con\u00adspi\u00adra\u00adcy theo\u00adries. Everyone has an opi\u00adni\u00adon. The deba\u00adte turns into a tri\u00adbu\u00adnal \u2013 about con\u00adsen\u00adsu\u00adal sex, por\u00adno\u00adgra\u00adphy and more.
Always up for inno\u00adva\u00adti\u00adve cine\u00adma\u00adtic expe\u00adri\u00adments, Radu Jude has craf\u00adted from this con\u00adstel\u00adla\u00adti\u00adon an intel\u00adli\u00adgent, sati\u00adri\u00adcal tri\u00adptych: with its non\u00adcha\u00adlant\u00adly pre\u00adcise came\u00adra\u00adwork and manic humour found in the stress of ever\u00ady\u00adday life on Bucharest\u2019s streets, the first part shows us what con\u00adtem\u00adpo\u00adra\u00adry cine\u00adma at the docu\u00admen\u00adta\u00adry-fic\u00adtion inter\u00adface can look like. The second part is an off\u00adbeat series of laco\u00adnic, sta\u00adtic images inten\u00added as an ency\u00adclo\u00adpaed\u00adia of the sym\u00adbols of our time. The film\u2019s grand \u2013 albeit open-ended \u2013 fina\u00adle is a dis\u00adcus\u00adsion held at the school in which jud\u00adge\u00adment is pas\u00adsed on our heroine\u2019s right to exist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
