Siblings Karin and Simon are visi\u00adting their par\u00adents and their litt\u00adle sis\u00adter Clara. That evening, other rela\u00adti\u00adves will be joi\u00adning them for din\u00adner. Over the cour\u00adse of the day, the washing machi\u00adne is repai\u00adred, peo\u00adp\u00adle sit tog\u00ade\u00adther at the kit\u00adchen table, car\u00adry out an expe\u00adri\u00adment with oran\u00adge peel, talk about lungs, and sew on a but\u00adton that was deli\u00adbera\u00adte\u00adly torn off.
\nThis sequence of fami\u00adly sce\u00adnes in a Berlin flat com\u00adple\u00adte with cat and dog crea\u00adtes a wond\u00adrous world of the ever\u00ady\u00adday: Coming and going, all man\u00adner of doings, each move\u00adment lea\u00adding to the next, one word fol\u00adlo\u00adwing ano\u00adther. It is a careful\u00adly staged chain reac\u00adtion of actions and sen\u00adten\u00adces. And in bet\u00adween, silent gazes and anec\u00addo\u00adtes about expe\u00adri\u00aden\u00adces. The peo\u00adp\u00adle act oddly even-tem\u00adpe\u00adred\u00adly; their dia\u00adlo\u00adgues are direct and unemo\u00adtio\u00adnal. Even the pets and the mate\u00adri\u00adal sur\u00adroun\u00addings play a part. Some objects seem ali\u00adve as if by magic. Commonplace actions and fami\u00adli\u00adar items appear absurd and eerie in this nar\u00adra\u00adti\u00adve cos\u00admos. Putting the absur\u00addi\u00adties of dai\u00adly life on dis\u00adplay and trans\u00adla\u00adting unspec\u00adta\u00adcu\u00adlar events into an exci\u00adting cho\u00adreo\u00adgra\u00adphy of ever\u00ady\u00adday life, this film is no small feat.<\/p>\n
