The title alre\u00ada\u00addy indi\u00adca\u00adtes that this is about two levels. History and the pre\u00adsent, archi\u00adve and pre\u00adsence \u2013 the\u00adse are the terms Ute Adamczewski uses to descri\u00adbe the ten\u00adsi\u00adon bet\u00adween sta\u00adte and ter\u00adrain. The series of dicho\u00adto\u00admies could be con\u00adtin\u00adued with \u201cimage and sound\u201d. What we see in the\u00adse two hours are towns, places and land\u00adscapes in Saxony. They all have a con\u00adnec\u00adtion to events imme\u00addia\u00adte\u00adly after the Nazis sei\u00adzed power in 1933. At that time the hunt for poli\u00adti\u00adcal oppon\u00adents began which affec\u00adted so many that num\u00ade\u00adrous, part\u00adly impro\u00advi\u00adsed pri\u00adsons and camps were built in the area.<\/p>\n

An off-screen woman\u2019s voice calm\u00adly reads from docu\u00adments of the peri\u00adod, sup\u00adple\u00admen\u00adted and expan\u00added by memoirs of tho\u00adse affec\u00adted from the post-war peri\u00adod. Historical-poli\u00adti\u00adcal aspects are added suc\u00adces\u00adsi\u00adve\u00adly. In the GDR<\/span>, only tho\u00adse who had fought against fascism were regard\u00aded as \u201cvic\u00adtims of fascism\u201d. Jews were no vic\u00adtims in that sen\u00adse. This finds a remar\u00adkab\u00adle par\u00adal\u00adlel in the fact that even the Nazis in their attempts to bring order to the per\u00adse\u00adcu\u00adti\u00adons of 1933 (still) excluded the Jews: \u201cForeign des\u00adcent is no reason for pro\u00adtec\u00adti\u00adve detenti\u00adon.\u201d An impres\u00adsi\u00adve film about the pre\u00adsence of the past, both in form and content.<\/p>\n
