Suppressed love and an ode to fri\u00adend\u00adship: Matthias &<\/span> Maxime is a typi\u00adcal Dolan film, full of bound\u00adless ener\u00adgy and romance. <\/strong>Max (Xavier Dolan) and Matthias (Gabriel d\u2019Almeida Freitas) have been best fri\u00adends sin\u00adce child\u00adhood. But now Max is hea\u00adding off to Australia to final\u00adly get his life tog\u00ade\u00adther. On their fare\u00adwell tour from par\u00adty to par\u00adty, the fri\u00adends meet a film stu\u00addent who impul\u00adsi\u00adve\u00adly casts both for a pro\u00adject. When they then have to kiss on came\u00adra, it\u2019s as if they\u2019ve been struck by light\u00adning. Unexpected fee\u00adlings bloom, which Matthias vehe\u00admen\u00adt\u00adly rejects \u2013 a reac\u00adtion which in turn hits Max very hard.<\/p>\n
