He may. Sasha beco\u00admes the focus of the film. The acid of the title first comes into play in the artist\u2019s stu\u00addio when Vasilisk dis\u00adsol\u00adves his father\u2019s sculp\u00adtures in it. Life is not bad in today\u2019s Russia for the young, fat\u00adher\u00adless men at the cent\u00adre of the film. They look good, but their lives have no sen\u00adse of direc\u00adtion. The bot\u00adt\u00adle of acid remains in the room the next mor\u00adning. It will con\u00adti\u00adnue to play a role in the story.
\nGorchilin finds powerful images for his depic\u00adtion of a youth that seem to be losing their grip on life. And neither the cream-colou\u00adred inte\u00adri\u00adors of their bour\u00adgeois homes, nor rhyth\u00admic gym\u00adnastics or even the church seem to offer them any\u00adthing to hold on to.<\/p>\n
